The MAMMOTH TUSK sometimes is called mastodon task, fossilized tusk, wooly mammoth ivory, Russian ivory, Siberian ivory or Arctic ivory. Actually, mammoth tusk is fossilized ivory, which spent from 10 to 40 thousand years being trapped in the permafrost. The tusk, being a very valuable material, is used for exquisite jewelry, carved miniature sculpture like netsuke and other exclusive carving artworks.
